The complete IDimager Version 5 Workbook is now available for sale. The Pre-Release Edition is no longer available.
If you purchased the Pre-Release Edition (thank you for that!), an email has been sent to your official address of record. The subject of the email is “IDimager Version 5 Workbook.” That email provides access to a zipped file containing the complete workbook and a Read Me file. Please check all of your email accounts and your spam filter. If you don’t find the email, please contact me at Buckley@HowToCatalog.com.
Once long-time IDimager user Mike Phillips and I put the finishing touches on a Workbook session that is provided by him, my remaining primary tasks are to create the table of Contents, the Index and the PDF bookmarks. I believe I still remain on target to release the complete workbook in June.
I have now completed the draft of all sessions to be included in the complete workbook. Once I receive a critique from Mike Phillips (thank you, Mike!) of the last few sessions, I will put the final touches on them and make the complete table of Contents available here at the blog.
My final tasks include formatting more than 60 sessions that are not included in the Pre-Release Edition. Nearly 50 of them allow novice users to learn how to use IDimager by completing an entire cataloging and file-management workflow using the provided image files. The other sessions contain new material for novices and experienced users alike that explain how to customize IDimager. Once all of the workbook sessions are formatted, I will create the index and PDF bookmarks. The complete workbook will then become available.
Considering the amount of time required to make all of that happen, I am now aiming to release the complete workbook in late June. I will update you again in May. Thank you, as always, for your patience!

The Pre-Release Edition of the Workbook now includes Part 7. That part of the workbook contains 61 “How To” sessions that you can complete in mostly any order that meets your needs.
If you download the Workbook from this blog after 4:00PM ET in the U. S. on March 8, you will receive Part 7 in your package of files. If you purchased the Workbook prior to that time, I have sent you an email. That email contains a link that allows you to download the Pre-Release Edition of Part 7 at no charge. IMPORTANT: Please ensure that your spam filter has not blocked Buckley@HowToCatalog.com.
If you expect to receive that email and don’t receive it, please contact me at Buckley@HowToCatalog.com. Please include the email address that you used when you ordered the Workbook.
You might remember from my January update that I am going to add the 61 workbook sessions that are in Part 7 to the Pre-Release Edition of the workbook. Those “How To’” sessions can be completed in mostly any order that fits your needs. You can review the topics of those sessions in the table of contents of the complete workbook provided in the “Free Samples” tab of this blog.
My plan is to make the 61 sessions in Part 7 available in mid-March.
The sessions in Part 7 will be sent at no additional charge to everyone who has already purchased the Pre-Release Edition at that point in time. Everyone who purchases the Pre-Release Edition from that point going forward will also receive the sessions in Part 7 as part of their Pre-Release package.
I believe the complete workbook will be available in May.
As a reminder, the complete workbook will include many sessions that are not in the Pre-Release Edition. There will be 49 sessions that explain how to use IDimager by implementing an entire cataloging workflow. There will also be an entire section devoted to customizing IDimager.
Thank you for your patience. I will provide another update in April.
I have written the text of the complete workbook except for the sessions in Part 8, “Customizing IDimager.”
I am going to format the Part 7, “How To,” sessions in in the desktop publishing software before writing the last few sessions of text. Once the sessions in Part 7 are formatted, I will distribute them to everyone who has previously purchased the Pre-Release Edition. Anyone who purchases the Pre-Release Edition from that point going forward will also receive the sessions in Part 7 included in their order.
The Part 7, “How To,” sessions can be completed mostly in any order that fits your needs. That flexibility allows me to provide the most number of sessions in the least amount of time to the most number of people who can immediately benefit from them.
The 61 sessions in Part 7 include everything from “How to Update & Upgrade IDimager” to “How to Use IDimager on a Second Computer.” For a finalized listing of those sessions (and all sessions other than the sessions in Part 8, “Customizing IDimager”), please click here.
That table of contents, a free workbook session, and other free materials are also available by clicking the “Free Samples” tab.
I will provide another update in February.
The IDimager Professional Edition is available at a 50% discount through February 2010 if you migrate from iView or Expression Media. For details: http://idimager.com/
